Accessibility helps everyone. Wheelchair ramps come in handy when you have a hand-truck. Closed captioning for the hearing impaired is a requirement in noisy environments.

Accessibility in a website focuses on the ability to access the same information in multiple ways. This can be easily done by simply building the site to standards. These standards make it easy to have the same site work the same when viewed on different operating systems, and in different browsers, such as special needs browsers for the sight impaired. It also makes it much easier to adapt the site to new technologies.
